If you are in the college search and financial game, it might often feel like you were playing ball in a swamp.

The ball might be flying around in the air, but you can’t move your feet to catch up and grab it.

There are literally millions of pages on the internet, a host of books in stores and online, and an array of “experts”, each with their own axe to grind.

We see aggressive marketing for online universities, for “for profit” colleges. Some sites sell scholarship lists, while others offer a chance to “win” a scholarship (often leading to a promotion of a for profit university, higher interest loans for students and parents, credit cards, or even insurance services).

So where does the hype end and the reliable information begin?

It would take a brave person to draw a clear line. There is a lot of good information out there, but for most people the sheer volume is overwhelming.

Also, while the “how to” books can be useful, can you ask the question of the author: “Exactly what and how much did you gain for your students last year?”.

And this is why we feel that working with a qualified and experienced independent college counselor is a worthwhile investment for the family that can afford to do so.

Our goal is to deliver an easy to follow teaching course online that will provide parents and students with tools and planning that will come as close as possible to the counseling we provide our clients on a one to one basis (and with great success).

This program will be more accessible, and certainly affordable for the average family.
