What Are AMP, QC 500 & PASS?
The QC500 PLUS College Database
The database traces its origins to 1990 with multiple updates over the ensuing 20 years. Each year, college financial aid, scholarship awards, and total cost of attendance data have been updated via published information and the experience of our clients. It also records the competitive academic criteria applied by each school in its admissions policy.
Read a more detailed history of the QC500 PLUS on the Database & Search Tools page.
Note: The QC500 PLUS database is not static, as it is updated each year and is subject to additions and filters.
How The AMP Works:
- Our database records the competitiveness of the schools (as reported by the schools)
- The schools are grouped in accordance with competitive levels
- We analyze with our client student how he or she matches with each of the groups
- We take into consideration the student’s career and academic ambitions, academic attitude, and personal traits and preferences (PASS)
How does this help?
- This methodology provides the student and family with a proven “range finder”
- The range finder gets them focused on suitable and appropriate colleges right from the onset of the college search process
- This saves a lot of time, effort, and frustration
We designed the personal assessment (PASS) to allow the student to define his/her personal preferences, traits, and learning skills. PASS is integrated with the student’s academic performance to shape the list of candidate colleges in terms of size, setting, areas of study. and academic intensity.
Application of the AMP in conjunction with PASS and QC500 PLUS has proved to be a user friendly estimator of where a student has:
- The best probability of admission for the preferred academic and personal choices
- The greatest opportunity for a generous need-based financial aid package laden with gift aid
- The best chance for a merit scholarship
A lot of work and sophisticated technology lies behind the QC500 PLUS, PASS, and the AMP, tools which set us apart from the rest of the college counseling field.
Fortunately, the tools are pretty simple to use and, best of all, using them makes planning for college a much easier process.
The QC500 PLUS and the AMP are integral components of the College Search Game Plan online instruction course. If you become a subscriber, you will have complete access to these tools and the relative training modules.
